After being nominated back in November of 2016 and then announced as an inductee in February 2017, Jay Z has no officially been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. This honor is particularly noteworthy because Jay Z is the very first rapper to be included in the Hall of Fame.
The Brooklyn MC is now part of an elite group of musicians that includes such figures as John Lennon and Elton John.
