2. Two more people in Maine have died from the coronavirus, bringing the total to 14. 537 coronavirus cases have been reported in 15 Maine counties as of Wednesday. Maine CDC Director Dr. Shah said 101 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 187 have recovered. Dr. Shah added “We are only seeing a fraction of the cases that are actually out there.” (WGME)

3. On Wednesday, the Treasury Secretary told members of Congress that the first of the $1,200 coronavirus relief checks for Americans will begin next week. $98 billion dollars has already been approved for small business loans. Democrats and Republicans are at odds over the next coronavirus aid bill. (AP)

4. Four auto insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, USAA, Farmers) announced they will be providing payments or credits to customers to reflect that they are driving less. The companies said their payments and credits are possible because they are covering fewer accidents as people drive less during the pandemic. (PRESS HERALD)

5. Bernie Sanders has ended his bid for the presidency, thus handing former Vice President Joe Biden the Democratic nomination. Sanders was the frontrunner until Biden won South Carolina and a slew of Super Tuesday states. Biden will now face President Trump in November’s general election. (CNN)
