(News) Michael Che is Paying Rent for Residents in Late Grandmother’s Building

Michael Che is honoring his late grandmother, who died from COVID-19, by paying a month’s rent for all 160 apartments in her building. Che adds, “I really hope the city has a better plan for debt forgiveness” for those who lost their jobs because of the virus. Che’s grandmother lived in a public housing complex. Che also said this past weekend on SNL, “I lost my grandmother this week, and coming back to work really made me feel better.”
