(News) Tupac is Apparently Alive and Lives in Kentucky

During a Monday night news conference, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear chastised some people for using fake names to file for unemployment benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic. “We had somebody apply for unemployment for Tupac Shakur here in Kentucky,” Beshear said. “And that person may have thought they were being funny.” Small problem: There actually is a Lexington resident named Tupac Malik Shakur who filed for unemployment on March 13 after the restaurant where he works as a cook closed down. “I’m hurt, I’m really embarrassed and I’m shocked,” Shakur told The Lexington Herald-Leader. “He needs to apologize. That’s just my name.” Lo and behold, the newspaper later confirmed that the governor called Shakur on Tuesday morning to say he was sorry.
