The longtime police-themed reality TV series Cops has been canceled after 32 seasons on the air. The Paramount Network had already pulled the show off the air following the nationwide protests against police brutality. The show began in 1989 and ran for over 1,100 episodes. It ran for 25 years on FOX, who finally canceled it in 2013. Spike TV, later rebranded as Paramount Network, brought it back in 2017. The show has long been criticized for being racially skewed against African-Americans and Latinos.
