Last month, Chappelle did a stand up telling us how he was hurt that “Chappelle’s Show” was being streamed on Netflix and HBO Max. Dave gets no royalties from the show because of a bad contract. Netflix removed the show. As for HBO Max, Dave said that HBO passed on “Chappelle’s Show” before Comedy Central picked it up. He thought it was ironic that the new service was using his creative content to get subscribers. HBO’s Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys understood Dave’s stance. Bloys announced that “at the end of the year, at the end of this year, December 31st, we’re going to honor (Chappelle’s) request and take the show down.”
