1. The Maine Republican Party voted 19-41 Saturday, rejecting a motion to censure U.S. Senator Susan Collins. Collins was one of seven Republican U.S. Senators to vote on February 13 to convict former President Trump of inciting the January 6th Capitol Riot. (WMTW)

2. The U.S. tops 30.2 million covid-19 cases with more than 549,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 197 new cases on Sunday keeping Maine’s death toll at 736 with 77 Mainers currently hospitalized. Over 254,000 Mainers have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose, which represents more than 18% of the population. (WMTW)

3. Hundreds gathered Saturday on the steps of Portland City Hall for a rally against recent violence and hate towards Asian-Americans. Speakers said that long before COVID-19, hate towards Asian Americans has existed but the pandemic has brought painful realities to the surface. (WMTW)

4. On April 7th work will step up on the multi-million dollar traffic circle planned for the intersection of Deering Ave, Brighton Ave and Falmouth Street in Portland. For 2-3 months Falmouth Street will be closed at the intersection, and the northern leg of Deering Avenue will be closed to non local traffic. (PRESS HERALD)

5. 16-year-old Vetri Vel who attends Bangor High School ended up placing 6th in the popular Regeneron Math and Science competition. Winning 6th place out of 1800 participants came with an $80,000 prize. Vel created a system to detect heat signatures of a fallen person and immediately text for help. (NEWS CENTER)
