The Weeknd released a snippet of a new song, Take My Breath. It was used in an Olympic Track and Field promo. The full track will be released this Friday (August 6th). The Weeknd also told GQ some things about his life, including his quest for a level of sobriety. He said that he is sober-lite and only smokes weed and drinks occasionally. The Weeknd pointed out, “Drugs were a crutch. It was me thinking that I needed it. And not doing the work to figure out how not to need it. And I’ve spent the last few years realizing that and thanking God that I don’t need it. Because for a lot of people, it’s hard to shake it. But I knew I didn’t want it.”He also said, “I’m not a heavy drinker, as much as I used to be. The romance of drinking isn’t there.” The Weeknd opened up about having a family at some point. He said, “And I eventually want a family. I know I say I don’t, but I know I do. I want children, but also I feel like having children would influence me and inspire me more.”
