3. Nurses at Maine Medical Center say they’re exhausted and feeling the pressure as the number of people being hospitalized with COVID-19 increases. There have been six outbreaks inside the hospital. Hospitals beds are filling up with young and unvaccinated COVID patients, which puts a pressure on other departments.
4. Friday’s scheduled football matchup between Hermon and Cape Elizabeth and the Week 1 game between John Bapst of Bangor and Oak Hill of Wales have been canceled due to covid cases.
5. Bud Light is releasing its first-ever pumpkin spice hard seltzer. The alcoholic beverage includes a blend of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla flavors that the company describes as “literally the taste of fall.” The drink will be available 9/6 and is part of a fall-themed variety pack that includes toasted marshmallow, maple pear and returning favorite apple crisp.
