1. The federal government’s COVID-19 test website, COVIDtests.gov, is now live and began accepting orders Tuesday, one day ahead of schedule. You can get four tests per household. They are expected to be mailed out seven to 12 days after your order.
2. The Freeport town council passed a town-wide mask mandate for indoor businesses Tuesday that will start today. South Portland is expected to issue a mask mandate as soon as Friday.
3. State lawmakers are holding a public hearing today on a bill that would allow the delivery of marijuana to any municipality in Maine, whether that community has approved the operation of marijuana stores or not.
4. AT&T & Verizon will delay their 5G rollout for towers around certain airports after airlines asked the Biden admin. to intervene over concerns about flight disruptions due to possible interference. Maine isn’t expected to see this 5G expansion until 2023.
5. Microsoft is buying Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion! The deal will give Microsoft control over titles like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Candy Crush. Word is that Microsoft hopes to start a subscription-like service ala Netflix.
