1. Hundreds gathered at a celebration of life Sunday for 14-year-old Theo Ferrara. Ferrara had been missing for less than a week before his body was found in the ocean off the coast of Brunswick. The family released a statement saying “Our wish is for each and every one of you to know that if they think to themselves, ‘No one would miss me if I was gone.’ Please know that Theo thought the same. Look at the evidence of how much people cared for and loved him. We all notice your absence, Theo.”
2. Two people are dead after a plane crashed into a multifamily building in Keene, New Hampshire, on Friday night. The 8 people living in the building were not hurt.
3. RSU 1 in the Midcoast will meet tonight to discuss removing “Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out” from it’s library. This comes after several other books, “Gender Queer” and “It’s Perfectly Normal,” were under the spotlight in similar meetings. Bonny Eagle School Board voted not to ban “Gender Queer” earlier this month while Dirigo High School voted to remove it from the library.
4. 17-year-old Alexis Michaud plays for the softball team at Maranacook High School and is a cancer survivor. She used her Make-A-Wish to renovate the school’s softball field. Make-A-Wish Maine upgraded the dugouts and scoreboard, as well as supplied new team jerseys and bags. The new additions were unveiled Sunday.
5. The iconic McRib sandwich is back at McDonald’s for a limited time now through November 20th. According to a product description for the McRib on the McDonald’s website, the sandwich’s 2022 return is unique: it’s “the McRib Farewell Tour.”
