An AI-generated collaboration between Drake and The Weeknd called “Heart on My Sleeve” is making waves on social media, just days after Drake slammed the use of AI in music. The track was created using AI programming and has been viewed over 4.8 million times on Twitter.
App Sumo’s Mitchell Cohen suggested the track was created by Laylo, a start-up offering content creators tools to reach more fans and subscribers. The Laylo website offers a full copy of the song in exchange for personal details.
Drake shared an AI-generated cover of him rapping Ice Spice’s “Munch” and called it the “final straw AI.” AI covers could be breaking the law if they mislead people into thinking it’s the original, according to music and copyright lawyer Alexander Ross.
