1. Two people were killed and a passenger critically injured on Interstate 295 in Falmouth on Monday. A 72 year old Yarmouth woman entered the northbound lane heading south and caused the head on collision. (PH)
2. The border between Houlton, Maine and Canada was closed yesterday after a member of the Maine State Police shot at a man who claimed to have an explosive device. The driver from Providence, was not injured and surrendered. (WGME)
3. The raccoon that was brought into the Auburn Petco on Tuesday has tested negative for rabies. In Petco a number of people touched, and even kissed, the animal. (BDN)
4. History was not made last night. The record for NBA teams that go down 0-3 in a playoff series is now 0-151. Miami Heat defeated the Celtics in Game 7 and will face the Denver Nuggets in the NBA finals. Game 1 is Thursday. The Vegas Golden Knights will face the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the NHL finals on Saturday.
5. Maine Red Sox fans will get to watch Boston’s top prospect, Marcel Mayer in action. The 20 year old shortstop was the 4th overall pick in the 2021 draft. He joins the Sea Dogs for this week’s series against the Somerset Patriots. (WMTW)
UMaine’s baseball team will play in the NCAA Division I Regional in Coral Gables, Florida, on Friday when the Black Bears will take on the University of Miami Hurricanes. (BDN)
