In April, Latto unveiled her latest single, “Put It on da Floor,” after generating anticipation during her Coachella performance. Now, she has teamed up with Cardi B to release the remix, aptly titled “Put It on da Floor Again.” The music video accompanying the song showcases Latto and Cardi indulging in some mischief while shopping at a department store, with a brief cameo by Cardi B’s husband, Offset.
The release of “Put It on da Floor” stirred up some controversy due to a line that Coi Leray initially interpreted as a diss: “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.” However, Latto clarified that the lyric was meant as an affectionate gesture, and Coi Leray has mostly accepted the explanation. Latto’s album “777,” released last year, played a significant role in her nominations for Best New Artist and Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards. The remix of “Put It on da Floor” follows Latto’s single from February, “Lottery.”
“Put It on da Floor Again” marks Cardi B’s first guest appearance of 2023. In the previous year, she made notable appearances on tracks such as “No Love (Extended),” “Shake It,” “Tomorrow 2,” “Despechá Rmx,” and “The Seaweed Sway,” in addition to releasing her own single, “Hot Shit.”
