SZA’s new music video for the track “Snooze,” directed by Bradley J. Calder and Solána, features a series of fictional failed romantic relationships involving SZA and various men, as well as a humanoid robot. Notably, the video includes appearances by Justin Bieber, actors Woody McClain, Young Mazino, and producer/songwriter Benny Blanco.
The video initially portrays happy couples, including scenes of SZA with Bieber in a bedroom, McClain engaged by her dance in a gym, and Mazino and Blanco enjoying a picnic. However, these scenarios quickly deteriorate into arguments and separations. The robot remains as SZA’s partner amidst the relational chaos. Toward the end of the video, the robot’s connection with SZA intensifies, emphasized by choreography involving backup dancers.
The video concludes with a transition to an unreleased song, depicting a reunion between SZA and a man in a white ensemble in an open field. The closing scenes feature SZA alone, gradually undressing. The “Snooze” music video offers a unique take on romantic dynamics, with its star-studded cast and a distinctive narrative that captures attention.
