2. Police were called to the Riverton Gas Station in Portland for a report of a robbery on Saturday. Police are describing the robbery suspect as 5’7″ with yellow teeth and a brown goatee. The unknown male was wearing a white mask and carried a baseball bat. (WGME)
3. The average cost of a gallon of gas is currently $3.38, around 47 cents lower than this time last year. Experts say this lowering trend could continue to set gas prices as low as $3 a gallon – the lowest since 2021. (NPR)
4. Respiratory virus season is approaching, which could mean a spike in COVID cases. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is ramping up to offer free at-home COVID tests. The website COVIDtest.gov will begin taking orders for the free tests in late September. In the last three years, the U.S. government has delivered over 900 million tests in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service. (USAToday)
