1. Kimberly Moreau was 17 when she was last seen leaving her family’s home on Jewell Street in Jay on the evening of May 10, 1986. Richard Moreau said he recently received a call from a psychic, Laurencia Bourget of Westbrook. Bourget told him they needed to search the area near the defunct Tri-Town bowling alley. A body was found. However the remains were that of a male. (PH)
2. Lisbon High School is forfeiting its final football game of the season due to the ongoing hazing investigations involving student-athletes on the football team. It is uncertain how much longer the internal investigation will take. The Greyhounds will finish the season 2-6. (PH)
3. Fall enrollment at Maine’s community colleges totaled more than 20,000 students for the first time, marking a roughly 10% increase since last year and a systemwide record. The state’s free community college program and a new initiative that offers guaranteed transfer to the University of Maine System for certain community college students were credited for the increase. 4. Portland has been named the No. 1 minor league sports market in the country for 2024 by Sports Business Journal, in a ranking published Monday. The ranking points to the deep local ties that all four teams have – Sea Dogs, Maine Celtics, Maine Mariners and Portland Hearts of Pine. (WMTW)
5. The Dunedin Airport in New Zealand has posted signs in the drop-off zone that say, “Max Hug Time 3 Minutes: For fonder farewells, please use the car park (parking lot).” The airport’s CEO, Dan De Bono, said the signs are tamer than posting messages about being towed away or fined. (The Guardian)
