1. A Biddeford police sergeant died following a crash on the Piscataqua River Bridge early Thursday morning while on his way home at the end of his shift. Sgt. Wolterbeek was an 18-year veteran of the Biddeford Police Department and leaves behind a wife and three young children. The crash remains under investigation. (WGME)
2. President-elect Donald Trump is ‘Time’ magazine’s Person of The Year. The honor went to Taylor Swift in 2023. Trump was named ‘Person of The Year’ in 2016 and joins 13 other Presidents, including Joe Biden, to receive the recognition. 3. Portland Library officials say someone returned a book that had been checked out more than 70 years ago. They say they got a package with a book inside, along with an apology letter. The person explained they re-discovered the book their mother checked out in 1951 and wanted to return it, with hopes of no late fees, something the library stopped charging a few years ago. (WGME)
4. The popular Stanley brand cups and tumblers are facing a recall. A total of 2.6 million mugs are being recalled because 91 people have been burned while using the product. The faulty containers are the 12- and 16-ounce Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the lids on the mugs could shrink when exposed to heat, preventing them from attaching correctly. The mugs have been sold since 2016. (NYP)
