Allagash Brewing Company is making moves—this time to Scarborough! The award-winning Portland-based brewery has officially announced the upcoming launch of Allagash Scarborough, a fresh and reimagined hospitality space set to open in July 2025 at The Downs, one of Maine’s fastest-growing mixed-use communities.

Unlike the original tasting room in Portland, the Scarborough location will offer an entirely new experience. Expect craft cocktails, house-made wines, and of course, the signature Allagash beers fans know and love. The vibe will be distinct from the Portland flagship, with a thoughtfully curated space designed by Mey & Co—whose impressive portfolio includes Bar Futo, Mr. Tuna, Bread + Friends, and more.

Adding to the excitement, Bite Into Maine will bring a brand-new menu to this location, making it a must-visit culinary stop as well.

“Allagash Scarborough is about expanding our community and sharing the Allagash experience with even more Mainers and visitors,” said Allagash Founder Rob Tod. “We’ll always call Portland home, but this new space gives us a chance to connect with people in a different way.”

This highly anticipated expansion comes after Allagash initially purchased land at The Downs back in 2022 with plans to build a new tasting room. However, shifting market realities led to a creative pivot—transforming an already existing space into a vibrant new gathering spot that can open sooner and bring that signature Allagash charm to the Scarborough community.

The new location will bring new job opportunities as well, with two full-time positions and several seasonal roles expected to be filled ahead of the summer opening.
