Today’s interview for If You Can Hear Her, You Can Be Her features Kristan Vermeulen, host of the Makers of the USA podcast, who joined me in studio to talk about her journey supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country!
Kristan shared how she moved from Maryland to Maine and quickly developed a passion for supporting the small business community. In Maine alone, she noted that 99.2% of the state’s business economy is made up of small businesses, something that continues to inspire her work.
That passion led her to launch the Makers of the USA podcast during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a way to highlight entrepreneurs navigating uncertain times quickly grew into a major platform. Today, the podcast has surpassed 10 million downloads and features conversations with creators, founders, and innovators from a wide range of industries! Kristan also spoke about balancing motherhood, a full-time job, and growing the podcast into something even bigger.
When asked what advice she would give young women, Kristan emphasized the importance of self-belief. Her message was simple but powerful: believe in yourself and learn to love yourself first!
