Portland Hearts of Pine Supporters Player of the Year Ollie Wright joined me in studio to talk about the journey that brought him to Maine and what made this season such a defining one for the club. Originally from London, Ollie’s path to Portland included collegiate soccer in Texas and professional stops across the United States.
Since arriving in Portland, Ollie says what sets Hearts of Pine apart is the connection between the team and the fans! From the energy in the stands to the pride surrounding the club’s identity, the support has been constant and deeply felt. That sense of belonging, he shared, has played a major role in making this season such a success both on and off the pitch.
On the field, the year brought plenty of standout moments for the club, including big goals, momentum-building performances, and a growing confidence that carried throughout the season. Ollie reflected on personal highlights as well, such as scoring his first goal of the season and delivering a memorable hat trick!
