Today for If You Can Hear Her, You Can Be Her, I spoke with Kelsey Cummings, co-owner of Offhand, a vintage clothing and ceramics shop in Biddeford!
Kelsey shared the story behind Offhand and her passion for sustainability in fashion. Through her shop, she encourages people to rethink fast fashion and consider the environmental impact of constantly buying new clothing. By focusing on vintage pieces and thoughtfully sourced items, Offhand promotes a more sustainable approach to personal style.
Inclusivity is also a core part of the shop’s philosophy. At Offhand, clothing is not separated by gender, allowing customers to explore and express their personal style without limitations.
Kelsey has also introduced new services designed to make sustainable shopping more accessible, including surprise style bundles and personal styling sessions that help customers discover vintage pieces that fit their taste and lifestyle!
She credited the supportive community in Biddeford for helping Offhand grow and thrive. The city’s creative and collaborative atmosphere has played a big role in the shop’s success.
For young women navigating their careers, Kelsey shared an important reminder: it’s okay to change directions and reevaluate your path along the way.
