Two very good pups with Maine ties are about to hit the national stage in one of the most adorable sporting events of the year – Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl!
I caught up with Matt Blanchard from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, and he shared the exciting news that Auggie and Lobster Roll, both adopted through ARLGP, will be featured in this year’s Puppy Bowl lineup. The annual event includes over 150 puppies from 72 shelters across the country, and these two local pups are proudly representing Maine.
Lobster Roll, a bulldog/border collie mix, is suiting up for Team Ruff, while goldendoodle Auggie will be playing for Team Fluff. Even more exciting? Lobster Roll has already made a splash with fans, advancing all the way to the semifinals of a Puppy Bowl pupularity contest!
Want to cheer them on with fellow animal lovers? The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is hosting a Puppy Bowl Watch Party this Sunday from 1PM–5PM at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Portland. Auggie and Lobster Roll will both be there in person, so you can meet these local celebrities while supporting a great cause! Proceeds from the event help ARLGP continue their life-saving work for animals in our community.
