It can be easy to overlook the talent growing right in your backyard, but with the way the Maine music scene continues to grow year after year, we’ll soon all be too short to gaze past what’s right in front of us.
Chris Register is a Portland native and a name you might not be familiar with, but as we know, fame and talent are not directly correlated. I remember first hearing Chris’ song “Idk Y” a year or two ago and thinking, “damn…this is dope!” Since then, he’s continued to release a few projects and music videos as he looks to claim stake in a music scene that has, as I stated, expanded quite a bit even since I first got involved in it around 2010.
