I got to chat with Britt and Sully from Pittie Posse Rescue, a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehoming bully breed dogs. Pittie Posse primarily rescues pups from a high-intake shelter in Georgia and also accepts owner surrenders right here in Maine. Once in their care, dogs are rehabilitated and placed with loving families across the northeast.
The organization also runs a pet food pantry to support local pet owners facing financial hardship and hosts inclusive community events, from yard sales to karaoke nights and even Portland Pride!
Their business, The Bark Yard, a fear and force-free doggy daycare, further supports the mission by offering enrichment and training for both foster and adopted dogs. Pittie Posse stands out for its unwavering commitment to their dogs and they offer lifetime support to every foster and adopter.
Right now, Pittie Posse is urgently seeking fosters, adopters, and donations to continue their lifesaving work. If you’ve ever considered getting involved, now is the time! Listen to our interview below to learn more
