The Portland Sea Dogs will become the Maine Clambakes for their game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on August 25th at Hadlock Field. The Maine Clambake is an old-fashioned New England tradition that includes steamed lobster, clams, corn, potatoes, and blueberry cake. Sea Dogs President Geoff Iacuessa stated that they are thrilled to celebrate this centuries-old tradition with Sea Dogs baseball and showcase the culinary cuisine that defines the region.
The team will wear Maine Clambake jerseys and hats and offer clam-themed promotions. Tickets for the Maine Clambakes game and all home games are available online or by calling the Sea Dogs ticket office, with prices ranging from $8.00 to $13.00. Maine Clambakes merchandise is also available at the Hadlock Field Souvenir Store and online. The Sea Dogs have previously rebranded to honor whoopie pies, red snappers, and Bean Suppahs, and will also play as Alces de Maine as part of a Hispanic fan engagement initiative.
