1. John Lewis, the civil rights icon who served 17 terms in Congress, passed away on Friday at the age of 80 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Lewis was the last surviving speaker from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington in 1963. The statewide death toll remains at 117 with 422 active cases. Two deaths were reported Saturday, one of which was a man from Androscoggin County in his 20s. He is the youngest death related to COVID-19 reported to the Maine CDC. (WMTW)

3. East End Beach in Portland is closed because of a water plant malfunction. The water is considered unsafe after an unknown amount of “waste” leaked into Casco Bay. The beach will stay closed until tests show the water conditions are safe. It’s unclear how long that will take. (WGME)

4. Starting today, Amtrak Downeaster trains will run four daily round trips from Brunswick to Boston that’s up from one round trip on weekdays which was meant to provide service for essential personnel.
