1. The U.S. tops 8.8 million Coronavirus cases w/ over 227,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 76 additional cases on Wednesday. The statewide death toll is 146 w/ 800 active cases.
2. Maine’s seven-day average of 54.1 new daily cases is the highest level since the outbreak began. The number of Mainers hospitalized with the virus has more than doubled over the past week. Governor Janet Mills said the jump in cases is a warning that Mainers may be letting their guard down and urged people to be a lot more vigilant about precautions.
3. Despite spikes in Maine COVID cases, starting Monday, bars will be able to serve customers, indoors, for the first time in months.
4. If you’re voting in Auburn this election, the city is giving residents a free ride to and from their polling places. The city says there’ll be two shuttle buses servicing all three polling places between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Election Day.
5. Drive-In Get Out The Vote Rally with Sara Gideon 6pm tomorrow night at the Cumberland fairgrounds. Tickets are free, but each car must RSVP to attend. All vehicles will be spaced 6-8 feet from one another.
