1. Lebanon’s Prime Minister and entire cabinet stepped down Monday in the wake of a deadly explosion that killed more than 150 people. Since the blast, Beirut has been rocked by protests demanding a change in government leadership. One protester says Monday’s resignations aren’t enough, as he’s looking for the president and speaker of Parliament to quit as well. (CNN)

2. President Donald Trump was moved from a press briefing for safety reasons yesterday. “There was an actual shooting and somebody’s been taken to the hospital,” Trump said. “It was the suspect who was shot,” Trump said. The Secret Service said the man told agents he had a gun, then made a “drawing motion.” (AP)

3. The U.S. tops 5 million coronavirus cases w/ over 163,000 deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 7 new cases on Monday. Maine’s coronavirus-related death toll remains 125 with 387 active cases. (WMTW)

4. The Lewiston School Committee voted Monday night to use a hybrid-teaching model this fall when classes resume. This hybrid-model would split students into four groups called “cohorts.” The board also voted to push the start of 2020-2021 school year to Sept. 14 to give schools and teachers more time to prepare. 5. The presidents of the Big Ten conference have voted to cancel the fall football schedule. A formal announcement is expected to happen today. Donald Trump is urging programs NOT to cancel the 2020 season. “The student-athletes have been working too hard for their season to be cancelled,” POTUS tweeted Monday (FREEP)
