1. The FBI is investigating some possibly illegal campaign contributions made to Senator Collins’ 2020 congressional campaign. The FBI’s focus is on a Hawaii defense company that allegedly funneled money to a pro-Collins super PAC and reimbursed donations to her campaign after she helped them get a Navy contract. (WGME)
2. Police are looking for a possibly armed Buxton man after a standoff that lasted for several hours Tuesday. It was reported that Brady Dix Sr got into a fight with his adult son and was armed with a shotgun. After trying to contact Dix for several hours, officers went into the home, but Dix was gone. 3. The U.S. tops 32.9 million covid-19 cases with more than 587,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported 2 new deaths and 199 new cases on Wednesday bringing Maine’s death toll to 805 with 113 Mainers hospitalized. More than 47% of Mainers are fully vaccinated. (WMTW)
4. Funtown Splashtown in Saco will only be open five days a week during the summer season due to a lack of workers. The park will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in July and August. (WMTW)
