1. US coronavirus cases top 465,000: America’s death toll stands at more than 16,600. The main US model is now showing fewer projected deaths, down to about 60,000 people by August. And top doctor Anthony Fauci said Americans may be able to take summer vacations if mitigation strategies continue. (CNN)

2. Two more people in Maine have died from the coronavirus, bringing the state’s total to 16. According to the Maine CDC’s Thursday briefing there have been 560 coronavirus cases reported in 15 Maine counties. 105 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 202 have recovered. However Dr. Shah Director of the Maine CDC said “We are only seeing a fraction of the cases that are actually out there.” (WGME)

3. Over 200,000 CMP customers are without power Friday morning. CMP crews said Thursday night it’s possible people will be without power for days. The heavy, wet snow combined with strong gusts of wind is what likely caused many power lines and trees to come down overnight. (WGME)

4. The Maine Principal’s Association announced Thursday that the spring sports season has been cancelled. Maine becomes the first New England state to cancel the spring season. (WGME)

5. After seven months of recovery from the Farmington explosion, Larry Lord will be discharged from Spaulding Rehab in Boston this morning. Larry saved many lives by evacuating the offices of his Farmington workplace, immediately prior to a deadly propane explosion. He will return home with a hero’s tribute, honored with a police escort starting at 11am. (NEWS CENTER MAINE)
