2. Tupac Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur died Monday night at her home in Marin County, California, at the age of 69. Afeni was the subject of Tupac’s 1995 song “Dear Mama.” After his death, she was in charge of his estate and founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation to support children’s arts programs. (Complex)
3. The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society posted a picture on Facebook Tuesday, saying that Governor Paul LePage adopted a new “first” dog and named it Veto. According to a spokesman for LePage, the dog is named Veto because “he is the mascot of good public policy, defender of the Maine people and protector of hard-working taxpayers from bad legislation.” (SJ)
