1. 5 people are dead and 40 were injured after an SUV sped into a Christmas parade in Wisconsin. A “person of interest” is in custody but police gave no details about the person or any possible motive. (PRESS HERALD)
2. Maine reached another new high Sunday for hospitalizations (287) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The surge has been most dramatic in hospitals serving rural, western Maine, where fewer people are vaccinated. (PRESS HERALD)
3. The seventh annual Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay kicked off Saturday. In past years, visitors could roam freely on the grounds, but this year’s event is a driving tour, open Thursday through Sunday through New Year’s Day.
4. AAA projects that 2.4 million New Englanders will travel for Thanksgiving, up 15 percent from 2020. Nationally, 53.4 million travelers are expected, which would be just 5 percent shy of 2019’s pre-pandemic total. (PRESS HERALD)
