1. A federal judge has decided that Maine does not have to allow health care workers to opt out of its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for religious reasons. The group that represents the plaintiffs, has already filed a notice of appeal. Health care workers still need to get inoculated by Friday to comply with state rules. (PRESS HERALD)
2. Police received a report just after 1 a.m. Wednesday that a man had been stabbed and was unresponsive at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. A Connecticut man is being charged with murder in connection with the deadly stabbing. (WMTW)
3. Brunswick High School football parents and players packed the town’s school board meeting yesterday in protest of the district’s decision to cancel their season. They argued that the students who were not a part of the incident have behaved admirably. The superintendent is not budging on his decision. (WMTW)
4. The Maine Department of Education named Kelsey Stoyanova, an eighth-grade teacher at Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden, the 2022 Maine Teacher of the Year. She helps students find and develop their love for literature and reading as a language arts teacher. (WGME)
