1. The United States coronavirus cases top 793,000: America’s death toll stands at more than 42,500. Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and other US states say some businesses could reopen soon with loosened social distancing rules. (CNN)

2. As of Monday’s Maine CDC briefing 35 Maine residents have died from COVID-19. There have been 875 coronavirus cases reported, now in all 16 Maine counties. 138 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness. 414 people have recovered. (WGME)

3. On Monday hundreds of people met outside the State House, as well as the governor’s house, to protest Governor Janet Mills’ “Stay Healthy at Home” order. Maine CDC Director Dr. Shah says he understands why people are frustrated, but says social distancing is the best way to beat the virus. Protestors were encouraged to maintain social distancing, but that wasn’t really the case. (WGME)

4. Portland city leaders are clearing up portions of Portland’s stay-at-home order. The city says it will allow shipping and curbside delivery for non-essential businesses. (WGME)

5. Earth Day is tomorrow and The American Lung Association’s 2020 “State of the Air” report ranks Bangor as one of the cleanest cities in the nation. It was one of four cities ranked cleanest in all three categories: ozone, year-round particle pollution and short-term particle pollution lists. (WGME)
