1. The operator of a Facebook page that promotes the political views of Republican Gov. Paul LePage has settled a federal lawsuit brought by the ACLU of Maine by agreeing to stop blocking users who post critical comments. The ACLU of Maine filed the civil rights lawsuit on behalf of Karin Leuthy and Kelli Whitlock Burton in August 2017 after the women were blocked from posting on “Paul LePage, Maine’s Governor” and comments they made there were deleted. According to the complaint, those actions violated the women’s 1st Amendment rights of free speech and also their right to petition their government under the 14th Amendment. (Press Herald)

2. Maine Wardens have issued a warning, that as lakes and ponds are beginning to freeze, not all of them are safe. Wardens say getting out on the ice too early is nothing to mess around with. Over on Sebago Lake, it’s mostly still open water, we’ll need a lot more cold for it to freeze over, and wardens say this time of year is when they end up seeing the most accidents on thin ice. (WGME)

3. L.L. Bean says single-day orders topped 315,000 on Tuesday, Dec. 4. That’s among the largest number of orders recorded in the company’s history for a 24-hour period. Bean is looking to return to sales growth after several years of flat sales and a difficult era of belt-tightening that included a reduction in workforce, a tightening of its generous return policy, and a paring of products. (WGME)

4. Marcus Morris Sr. had a season-high 31 points, making three quick 3-pointers to start the second half, and Jayson Tatum scored 21 on Monday night to lead a depleted Boston lineup to its sixth straight win, a 113-100 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. First-round draft choice Robert Williams III had career highs of seven points and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes. (Boston.com)

5. A Los Angeles Burger King mistakenly charged Boyce Harvey $1,093.91 for a Whopper, resulting in a huge overdraft on his bank account. Harvey was trying to take advantage of a one-cent Whopper promo that Burger King recently rolled out to poach customers from McDonald’s. Burger King is in the process of straightening things out with Harvey. (abc13)
