1. George Floyd’s brother called for an end to violence Monday and Roxie Washington, the mother of his 6-year-old daughter, called for justice for Floyd on Tuesday. Peaceful demonstrators defied curfews and remained on the streets of American cities for another night of protests over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man in police custody.

2. Demonstrators flooded Portland’s streets on Tuesday night, marching to different areas of the Old Port and the Eastern Prom for the fourth time in five days to express their outrage. Tuesday’s demonstration was mostly peaceful. Portland Police Chief Frank Clark and Portland City Manager Jon Jennings took a knee in solidarity with protesters on the steps of the police station.

3. Members of the Secret Service were in Guilford on Tuesday ahead of President Donald Trump’s planned visit on Friday. The president is scheduled to tour Puritan Medical Products. At least one rally, named a “Guilford, Maine Peaceful Protest for Black Lives Matter” was being promoted on Facebook and had drawn “interest” from more than 1,700 people as of Tuesday evening. The president’s supporters, meanwhile, were using social media to urge others to “to line every street he drives on.”
