It looks like it’s going to be one busy award season for Queen B! The 2019 Emmy nominations were announced Tuesday morning and Beyonce’s Netflix film ‘Homecoming’ was honored with six nominations. According to DEADLINE, ‘Homecoming’ was nominated for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), outstanding writing for a variety special, outstanding production design for a variety special, outstanding costumes for a variety (non-fiction or reality programming), outstanding directing for a variety special and outstanding music direction.
‘Homecoming’ features Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella performance, as the first African-American woman to headline, never-before-seen footage leading to the performance and a narration from Queen B herself.
The nomination for ‘Homecoming’ isn’t the only thing Beyonce has to look forward this award season. Billboard reports that the ‘Lemonade’ singer “may also be headed for an Oscar nom for ‘Spirit,’ which she co-wrote for the live-action reboot of The Lion King, in which she stars. And she could be headed for multiple Grammy noms, including best urban contemporary album for Homecoming: The Live Album, best music film for Homecoming, and best song written for visual media for ‘Spirit.'”
Fingers crossed for Beyonce on her epic nominations!
