While we gear up for what will be Cardi B’s first album since her Grammy award winning debut, Invasion Of Privacy, the Bronx native offers up a new song and video to hold the fans over in the meantime.
Some fans of today’s rap might say, “wait a minute, that’s Ski Mask The Slump God’s song, ‘Catch Me Outside'” but no! The original sample comes from Missy Elliott’s 1999 song “She’s A B*tch” produced by Timbaland. Cardi does a great job of paying homage to Missy by rocking the same style of diamond studs over her eyebrow.
Missy even acknowledged the tribute by posting a side by side photo of stills from both music videos.
The legendary Missy Elliott shows Cardi B’s #LikeWhat freestyle love via her IG story.

And while she pays tribute to one lady rap legend, it appears she sends a shot at another by delivering the line, “Everything you got, I had five years before,” seemingly insinuating that Nicki is getting lapped as Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow” topped the charts 5 years before Nicki’s “Super Freaky Girl.”
