Mark your calendars for a heartwarming new tradition from our friends at the Center for Grieving Children!
On Saturday, September 20th, the Center is hosting its inaugural Memory Making Event from 10AM to 2PM. It will be a free, family-friendly day of creativity, connection, and healing, open to all in the community!
This special event offers a meaningful opportunity for families to create cherished mementos while honoring loved ones. Activities include:
🎨 Arts & Crafts with Common Roots Studio’s Art Bus and Mama Mia Making – Let your creativity flow as you craft meaningful keepsakes together.
📸 Garden Portraits by MJR Media – Capture a beautiful moment with professional photography in the Center’s serene garden space.
🎙️ Recorded Audio Memories with Storied – Share and preserve special stories in your own voice.
🐴 A Visit from Toast the Mini Horse – Meet this gentle therapy horse who brings comfort and smiles through Impact Horse.
Held at the Center’s peaceful Portland location, the Memory Making Event is not only a chance to celebrate and remember loved ones, but also a way to support the vital work the Center does year-round. The organization provides no-cost peer support groups for grieving children and families across Southern Maine, offering a safe space to grow, connect, and heal.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who wish to support this meaningful mission and help keep these services accessible to all.
