Everybody loves to get their flowers and receive praise, and you’re lying if you say you don’t. But to hear it from somebody you looked up to and respect immensely? That’s a different feeling altogether.
At a recent benefit auction hosted by Dre, Jimmy Iovine, and Sotheby’s, Dr. Dre took the stage side by side with Timbaland and addressed the crowd as he beamed about his peer’s amazing career. “This guy is so fantastic, man. One of my inspirations. He doesn’t know it but he’s been one of my main inspirations throughout my career.” Dre continued on to say, “Can you believe the amount of songs this muf*cka has produced? I was just back here talking to James Corden and he was like, ‘Listen, I didn’t know he produced that.’”
Meanwhile, Timbo was cheesing ear to ear the entire time, and rightfully so. As Timbaland stated in his IG caption about the moment, this is his hero, after all, talking about him in such a shining light. Dre finished by saying, “Timbaland, one of the best to ever do it. Point blank, period.”
