ESPN is launching a new primetime franchise called Women’s Sports Sundays! This will officially replace Sunday Night Baseball as the network’s summer programming centerpiece starting in 2026. The new programming block will feature high-profile, live matchups from both the WNBA and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) during the coveted Sunday night television window.

The initiative is scheduled to run for nine weeks throughout the summer and will include not only live game coverage but also dedicated studio programming highlighting the athletes and stories within the leagues. This major shift comes after ESPN’s 36-year run with Sunday Night Baseball ended, and games were picked up by NBC.
What a major win for women’s sports – absolutely love to see it!
