The American Red Cross is encouraging people to donate money on its website, www.redcross.org, or to text 90999 to donate $10. Apple is also accepting Red Cross donations via iTunes and the Apple App Store.
The United Way of Greater Houston has a relief fund to provide shelter and basic needs, as well as long-term recovery efforts. Donate at www.unitedwayhouston.org.
Americares, an emergency response organization based in Connecticut, is delivering emergency medicine and relief supplies and working with a local clinic in Houston. Make a donation at americares.org.
Catholic Charities USA, the relief agency of the U.S. Catholic Church, is accepting donations online at app.mobilecause.com/vf/CCUSADISASTER or by texting CCUSADISASTER to 71777.
The Salvation Army is accepting donations for hurricane relief at give.salvationarmyusa.org.
The Texas Diaper Bank is accepting donations at texasdiaperbank.org.
The crowdfunding site Global Giving has set a $2 million goal for Harvey hurricane relief. Donate at globalgiving.org/projects/hurricane-harvey-relief-fund/
To help pets stranded by Hurricane Harvey, donations are being accepted by the SPCA of Texas, Austin Pets Alive and the San Antonio Humane Society.
