In a memo sent to Tesla employees, Musk ordered anyone working remotely to head back into the office. The note from Musk said, “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla.” He also said that office workers need to be in their assigned location and not a remote branch office unrelated to the job duties. Musk added, “If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.” Elon also threw in this: “There are, of course, companies that don’t require this, but when was the last time they shipped a great new product? It’s been a while. Tesla has and will create and actually manufacture the most exciting and meaningful products of any company on Earth. This will not happen by phoning it in.”
I don’t get the counter argument. If the founder and CEO of the company wants folks in the office at least 40 hours/week, leads by example, gives everyone stock, and $TSLA is growing at 50% per year, employees should follow the CEO’s directive, or work somewhere else. @elonmusk pic.twitter.com/MDZixMEKln
