On Saturday, rappers JAY-Z & Kanye West had a reunion of sorts at Diddy’s 50th birthday bash in Los Angeles, California. The two rappers were photographed smiling, shaking hands and posing for pictures together for the first time in public since 2016. The two had a rocky few years: JAY-Z felt insulted because Kanye ranted onstage about Beyonce and her Formation video, and the Carters didn’t go to West’s 2014 wedding to Kim Kardashian. “It’s a complicated relationship with us because Kanye came into this business on my label, so I’ve always been like his big brother,” JAY-Z said in a 2017 interview.
