Justin Bieber apparently got ahead of himself when he promised fans at Coachella this past weekend that his next album would be “coming soon.” TMZ reports that the Biebs’ next LP actually won’t be ready until sometime in 2020. It seems Bieber was so amped up making his first stage appearance in two years when he guested during Ariana Grande’s headlining set that he jumped the gun on album-release news. “While he has recorded a few songs already…we’re told he’s still working on creating a new sound,” the outlet adds. “We’re told he feels very centered, and he’s excited about getting back in the studio grind.” Bieber’s last album, Purpose, dropped in November 2015.
