There was a deep meaning behind Kid Cudi’s outfits when he performed on this week’s “Saturday Night Live.” The dress Cudi wore during “Sad People” was in tribute to Kurt Cobain. Cobain wore a similar dress about a year before he died in 1994. Cudi also rocked a green sweater with a white t-shirt underneath for his “Tequila Shots” performance. Cobain was known for that look too. In a special added bonus, Cudi’s t-shirt had former “SNL” cast member Chris Farley on the front. On Sunday, Cudi tweeted about the fashion…specifically the dress. Cudi said the dress was designed by Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh. He wrote, “I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt w a floral print sundress and this man-made a masterpiece. Thank You @virgilabloh ur a f—in genius!! Love you man, we did it!!!” Cudi also said that he is doing a collection with Abloh’s Off White brand, and the dress will be included.
