Senator David Burns confirmed earlier today that he plans to advance the “religious freedom” bill much similar to the one passed in Indiana. The Portland Press Herald reports Burns –
“said he’s moving forward with the proposal in Maine despite an ongoing national controversy that has sparked boycotts among gay rights activists against Indiana businesses, sanctions by other cities and states and even a call to move the NCAA Final Four college basketball tournament from Indianapolis.”
Is this a step in the right direction for our state of Maine? What do you think?
