This is a good week for Meek Mill. The rapper is getting a second shot at justice because his 2008 gun and drug conviction was just thrown out and he’s being granted a new trial and a new judge to re-fight the charge. A panel of judges made their decision in Pennsylvania Superior Court saying Mill does in fact deserve a new trial and new judge. Many believed Judge Genece Brinkley had it out for the rapper the first time around.

The AP reports that three Pennsylvania Superior court judges unanimously decided to grant Mill a new trial thanks to evidence pointing to alleged police corruption on the case. They stated, “We conclude the after-discovered evidence is of such a strong nature and character that a different verdict will likely result at a retrial.”

If that wasn’t enough good news for Mill, he is also partnering with Jay-Z to bring Mill’s Dream Chasers label into the Roc Nation fold. The two signed papers Tuesday in NYC at the Roc Nation’s midtown headquarters. Jay-Z said “Everything he has done leading up to this point shows he is ready to [lead] the next generation. We look at the big picture – this is way beyond signing artists and having hot records.”
