120 items will be featured at Sotheby’s first auction devoted exclusively to hip-hop memorabilia on September 15. Hot items include Tupac Shakur’s high-school love letters and the crown worn by the Notorious B.I.G. in his “King of New York” photo. The auction’s organizer thinks Biggie’s crown could fetch more than $300,000 “because it’s so recognizable.” “Anybody who lived through the ‘90s knows Biggie’s crown…It’s so iconic,” she adds.
